The International Research Network (IRN) Neutrino, approved in January 2021 for five years, is the natural follow-up of the GDR Neutrino, which started in 2004. Born to gather the experimental and theoretical neutrino community in France (CEA and CNRS), the GDR has grown up with an important international participation, giving birth to the IRN Neutrino. The IRN Neutrino is an international research network bringing together physicists from the French IN2P3 (Institut National de Physique Nucléaire et de Physique des Particules) and CEA (Commissariat à l'Énergie Atomique) and from four European institutes: the University of Milano-Bicocca (Italy), IFIC (Instituto de Física Corpuscular, Valencia, Spain), UCL (University College London, UK) and KIT (Karlsruher Institut für Technologie, Germany).
The IRN Neutrino organizes two yearly meetings which provide an occasion to exchange on the latest results in neutrino physics, give the opportunity to Ph.D. students and young postdocs to present their work and make themselves known in the French and European community, and consolidate the relationship between experimental and theoretical neutrino physicists.
The IRN neutrino contributes to the preparation of the roadmap in neutrino physics both at the French and international levels.
Le réseau international de recherche (IRN) Neutrino, approuvé en janvier 2021
pour une durée de 5 ans, est la continuation du GDR Neutrino. Fondé en 2004
dans le but de rassembler la communauté expérimentale et théorique des neutrinos
en France (avec ses composantes CNRS et CEA), le GDR Neutrino s'est développé
avec une participation internationale croissante, qui a naturellement conduit à la création
de l'IRN Neutrino. Ce dernier rassemble les physiciens des neutrinos du CNRS (IN2P3
et INP), du CEA et de quatre instituts européens : l'Université de Milan-Bicocca (Italie),
l'IFIC (Instituto de Física Corpuscular, Valence, Espagne), l'UCL (University College London,
Royaume-Uni) et le KIT (Karlsruher Institut für Technologie, Allemagne).
L'IRN Neutrino organise chaque année deux réunions pour discuter les derniers résultats
de physique des neutrinos, permettre aux doctorants et jeunes post-doctorants de présenter
leurs travaux et de se faire connaître au sein des communautés française et européenne,
et favoriser les échanges entre théoriciens et expérimentateurs.
L'IRN Neutrino contribue
à la préparation de la stratégie française et internationale en physique des neutrinos.
